About The Wild Project Record

The Wild Project Record is an archival publication devoted to a single subject: Wild Project Gallery, Luxembourg, and the artists it showed. The Record keeps three interlocking indexes — an exhibition chronology of fourteen catalogued shows and fair outings, an artist index of eleven dossiers, and a journal of dated articles — and extends the file forward: where the artists went, what they made next, and what the life and death of one small European gallery says about how photography is shown, sold, and remembered. Everything on the site is written in English, attributed to the publication, and sourced from the public record.

The subject

Wild Project Gallery was a contemporary art gallery with a strong photography emphasis that operated at 22, rue Louvigny in Luxembourg City. It opened in October 2015 with In Memoriam – Wild Project Gallery, Luxembourg (2 Oct – 21 Nov 2015); its documented exhibition program ran from that autumn to July 2017, closing with The Body Behind the Body – Wild Project Gallery, Luxembourg (1 Jun – 22 Jul 2017). After the program stopped, the gallery's website persisted as a frozen roster until late 2022, when it went offline. The full institutional history, dated and sourced, is kept at the Record.

This site is a new, independent publication: an archive and journal about the gallery and its artists. The address and hours that appear on this site are historical facts about the former gallery, stated in the past tense.

The artists

The eleven artists indexed here — from Izumi Miyazaki to Sabine Pigalle to Cédric Delsaux — are subjects of coverage. Each dossier records the artist's show at the gallery, the documented career around it, and the public record since. Where an artist's activity continues, the file stays open and carries a last-revised date.

Citations and images

Exhibitions are cited in one invariant formula wherever they are named: title, venue, city, dates — as in Cute and Cruel – Wild Project Gallery, Luxembourg (30 Jun – 30 Jul 2016). Each catalogued show carries a record number, WPG.01 through WPG.14, used consistently across the chronology, the dossiers, and the articles. Every article closes with a sources block listing what the piece rests on.

Every image on the site carries a caption and a credit line. The hero illustrations were drawn for the publication and are credited to it. The publication's production methods are set out in the colophon.

Corrections and additions

The Record is built from the public archive, and the public archive has gaps. Readers who can date, correct, or extend any entry — exhibition documentation, publication records, artist activity — are invited to write via the contact form. The corrections log is the dated record of changes to the file.
